Bonavendi USA Blog https://www.bonavendi.com/blog Sun, 12 Nov 2017 11:03:19 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.3.3 Your New Faster and Easier Sales Overview https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/your-new-faster-and-easier-sales-overview/ Sun, 12 Nov 2017 11:03:19 +0000 https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/?p=171 Your new sales summary overview helps you to organize and sell your items even faster and easier with the best buyers for your items.

After choosing the best buyer to sell to from your Bonavendi cart, there are three simple steps to completing the sale:

  1. Transfer the item(s) to the buyer
  2. Send the article(s) to the buyer
  3. Receive your money

In the sales overview you can see for each of your sales which step you are currently at during selling process, and what you should do next. This way you can always keep track of your sales with many items.

Just look at the highlighted step by step instructions, and complete the action that is required at that point. This ensures that you complete all aspects of the sale and you get your money quicker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find my sales overview?

You can access the sales overview at any time via the menu item “Sales” in the menu bar at the top right of the screen.

How does the sales summary help me when I transfer the articles to the buyer?

Depending on the technical possibilities of the buyer, the support in terms of transfer abilities can vary..

For many buyers, the articles are automatically transferred and you only have to confirm your items on the buyer’s website with one click. It may be that larger sales are transferred in multiple steps, but the process is the same.

For a few buyers, the article numbers are to be re-entered on the buyer website. If your browser supports it, we’ll copy the article numbers directly to your computer’s clipboard so you can easily paste them.

In all cases, the items in your item list will be checked out after successful transfer, so you will not forget items when transferring.

How does the sales summary help me when shipping items to the buyer?

In the sales summary, you can simply check off the items after you’ve packed them into your shipping box the corresponding buyer. By checking off your items as they are packed, you know you will not be missing or packing items in boxes to the incorrect buyer.

If you sell to several different sellers, it is important that you find out quickly for each item, is supposed to be sold to which particular buyer. There is now a search box that immediately tells  you the right buyer for an article name or a barcode number.

How does the sales summary help me get the money for my sale?

For this sales step, we offer you some organizational support when it comes to receiving money from buyers. Simply check off  that you have really received the money for all your articles to keep track of your shipments. You can select and deselect the articles individually.

Do I need a Bonavendi account to use the sales summary?

You can also use the sales overview without a Bonavendi account. However, we strongly recommend that you set up a free account. This will ensure that your sales cart and your pending sales are stored indefinitely and you can also retrieve them from different devices. Without a Bonavendi account, the data is bound to your browser and expires as soon as you delete your history / cookies.

My sales summary is empty – how can I add sales to the list?

You always start a sale from the Sales Cart  view. Simply click on the orange “Sell Now” button when you are ready to sell your items!

We hope you enjoy your new Sales Overview feature to simply organize and sell your items.

Happy Selling!

New Bonavendi Website Improvements and Features! https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/new-bonavendi-improvements-and-features/ Fri, 19 May 2017 20:15:43 +0000 https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/?p=132 Dear Bonavendi Users,

We have implemented some vast improvements and exciting new features to the Bonavendi website you should know about!

Here are a few of the important ones we want you to be aware of:

1.Product Search and Price Query

  • The improved product search gives you access to faster and more comprehensive title, ISBN and UPC item search capabilities.

  • The improved price query has been significantly accelerated and refashioned so you will receive your results faster, and in a more organized display.

  • The improved price query now gives you more control over your items. In the past, all items were automatically added to your selling cart. Now you have the choice to add or remove an item from your selling cart once the price comparison is completed.

2.Vendor Information

  • The new Vendor information displays in a clear and concise manner, all of the individual vendor essential conditions you need to be aware of when selling your items. For example (cart transfer ability, payout types, shipping types, purchase conditions, user ratings, etc.)

3.Your Selling Cart

  • The improved selling cart has an all new layout for an easier and more intuitive user experience. You can clearly identify and navigate your items, potential buyers, and sale combinations with clarity.

  • The offers of the items in your selling cart are now updated automatically if left untouched for more than 4 hours. This means if you add items to your cart and do not update them before this period of time, the cart will update them for you upon its opening. This ensures that you always have current price offers.

  • The new “Smart Cart” selling recommendation feature ensures you get the best deal when selling your items by calculating combinations for purchasing vendors. This feature now takes into account minimum purchase and minimum order requirements of individual vendors to make sure you are always eligible to complete a sale.

4.Your User Profile

  • Your new user profile allows for more control and customization of your selling preferences with abilities such as “preferred” vendors for selling and buying. This means only these vendors are included in your price query and “Smart Cart” selling combination recommendations.

We hope these exciting new features and improvements give you an even better buying and selling experience with Bonavendi.

Please feel free to give us your feedback on the new features, and enjoy the new service!

The Top 5 Apps for Buying and Selling Used Stuff https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/the-top-5-apps-for-buying-and-selling-used-stuff/ Mon, 15 May 2017 15:19:21 +0000 https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/?p=114

Why Sell Your Used Stuff?

Not only is selling your used stuff a great way to make some extra money, but it’s also a great way to free up some much needed space in your home or office. In addition, selling your used things to someone else is an important way to cut down on unnecessary resource consumption.

If you’re like most Americans including myself, there is an abundance of used stuff laying around the house that you no longer use or need. The problem is the money you think you could make by selling it just isn’t worth the time, effort, or aggravation.

Selling some of your used stuff online is not a new concept, this is something we are all aware we probably should be doing, but never take the time to do it. After going through a rough period of not having a job for a few months, I desperately needed to have some cashflow while I found a new place to work.

I decided to sell some of my stuff online and through trial and error, research, and some luck I managed to come across some really decent websites and apps that allow you do it with minimal effort and maximal value.

With dozens of different apps out there, the key is to know which apps are the most efficient in saving you time and making you money fast. Selling your stuff on any platform can be a hassle, but if you have the right app it can take all the work out of looking for the best offer.

Here are the Top 5 Apps for Buying and Selling you should download right now:

1. Bonavendi

It may come as no surprise what is at the top of our list when it comes to buying or selling used items to make some extra money. The Bonavendi App is a great tool to use if you are looking to sell any sort of used media. This includes all used Books, DVD’s, CD’s, and Video Games.

This app is perfect for anyone who: recently graduated from school and wants to sell back some textbooks, has a large collection of used DVD’s or Video Games they no longer use anymore, is moving or wants to make some extra space in their home or office, or simply wants to make some extra money on used stuff they no longer use.

How It Works:

The app uses the camera on your smartphone as a barcode scanner to scan any of the used media mentioned above. Once you scan an item with the app it will tell you exactly how much a variety of websites will pay you for it.

Simply:

  1. Choose the offer of the site you want to sell to
  2. Transfer the item(s) to your selling cart
  3. Send your items(s) with a free shipping label
  4. Get paid (mostly with choice of either Check or Paypal)

This app is great because you can scan dozens of items very quickly without having to type in barcodes like you normally do with most buyback websites. Also the app is completely free to use and charges no commission on the money you make from your sales!

Where Can I Download the App?

The Bonavendi App is available for download with:

  • iOS
  • Android

2. 5Miles

The 5Miles app is very useful and all about proximity in selling your used stuff. This app allows you to search local classifieds as well as yard sales online, all within a reasonable distance of, you guessed it, 5 miles. This allows for you to ensure that the goods you are looking to sell don’t have to travel very far to reach their intended buyer.

How It Works:

The 5mile app is very simple to use and great for wanting to stay local. All you have to do is take a picture of what you would like to sell, and post to a near by online classified or garage sale which will buy your item from you.

The app allows you to customize your items description with a voice recording, and also allows you to communicate directly with the vendor through the app. Very useful for quick and easy item descriptions.

Where Can I Download the App?

The 5mile App is available for download with:

  • iOS
  • Android

3. PoshMark

The PoshMark app is great for anyone interested in selling their clothing, predominantly high-end fashion items. The app is free for download and allows you to advertise your premium shoes, clothing, handbags, accessories, etc. All of this is done on a secure network which allows you to have constant communication directly with the buyer of your items.

How It Works:

The app is very easy to use and offers a variety of services including processing all payments between you and the buyer. Simply post a good picture of your items as well as an asking price and interested parties will contact you through the app.

You then have the ability to choose a preferred buyer, who also pays for the shipping of the item standard. However it is important to be aware that on all items which are priced over $15, your PoshMark app will take 20% commission of the sale.

Where Can I Download the App?

The PoshMark App is available for download with:

  • iOS
  • Android

4. Marcari

If you’re interested in selling some of your old electronics, gadgets, or even used clothing, the Marcari App is a must have for you. You have the ability to log and track all of your sales and offers with a very simple and intuitive interface.

How It Works:

Once you create your free account, you have the ability to sell your items instantly to millions of other users looking to buy your stuff. Simply take a picture of your item, and a detailed description which will put the item in a selected category, and then post your item to their server.

Once your item is posted you have the ability to communicate directly with the buyer as well as choose a preferred payment type including Paypal, debit card, or credit card. The app is safe and secure and also allows for you to share your items on social media for more exposure.

One of the best features of this app is not only is it free to use, it charges no commission on your sales so you keep all the money which you make through the app!

Where Can I Download The App?

The Marcari App is available for download with:

  • iOS
  • Android

5. TroveMarket

The TroveMarket app is the best way to sell your furniture items quickly and easily online. Any sort of used furniture you would like to get rid of is nicely advertised and easily sold through the Trove marketplace. Perfect for someone who is moving and needs to sell their furniture, or simply needs more room.

How It Works:

You simply sign in with your Facebook or Google account and you are ready to go. Create a nice profile with a little bit about yourself and you can join the massive online TroveMarket community which discusses various topics ranging from furniture to interior design.

The app provides you with the ability to take pictures with your smartphone of the items you would like to sell, and easily post them into the marketplace where they can be sold and commented on.

TroveMarket allows you to receive payments for your furniture right through the app with a payment method of your choice. You also have the ability to have constant communication with your buyer to verify any details about the items or the buyers inquiries.

Where Can I Download the App?

The TroveMarket App is available for download with:

  • iOS
  • Android

Word To The Wise

Everything is easier today with useful apps like the ones I have listed above. I have personally used all of these before many times and can tell you that they work really well and are great resources to have when looking to sell any of your used stuff.

In my opinion these are the top 5 apps for selling your used stuff, however there are many apps out there which you can choose from. My only word of caution is to make sure that you always check the terms and conditions for any app you use.

It is important to always be aware of commission percentages an app might charge you for selling an item with their service. The last thing you want is to realize after selling an item that you are not going to get the money you originally thought you would make. With the Bonavendi App however, you know it is always free to use 🙂

Feel free to comment below on your experiences, or any other apps you are aware of that should be added to the list!

How much do you know about César Chávez Day? https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/how-much-do-you-know-about-cesar-chavez-day/ Tue, 22 Mar 2016 10:25:42 +0000 https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/?p=80 If you are originally from California, chances are you know a little bit more about him than people from other States. Maybe just out of the fact that you can skip class or work this day in his remembrance, but still. César Chavez day is observed annually in the Golden State every March 31st and also occasionally in the States of Colorado and Texas.

This year, we believe César Chávez celebration day takes even more significance due to the presidential race we are currently witnessing. Cesar’s values need to be strongly brought to mind now that we are hearing a resolute presidential candidate with serious chances of becoming the 45th President of the United States talking about the construction of an as high as 55 feet wall in the US-Mexican border. Indeed, we are talking about Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

Let’s talk a little about César’s life and vital force. He was born on March 31 in 1927 in Yuma, Arizona. He was a migrant farm worker from the age of 10. A Mexican American, Chavez became the best known Latino American civil rights activist and was strongly promoted by the American labor movement, which was eager to enroll Hispanic members. He became active with the Community Service Organization, which helped fight racial and economic discrimination against Chicano residents.

Chávez co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in the early 1960s. He focused attention on the plight of migrant farm workers and gained support to have his organization be the first successful farm workers’ union in the United States. He used principles of non-violence, with strikes and boycotts. César Chávez remained president of United Farm Workers of America (AFL-CIO) until his death on April 23, 1993.

Many schools, community centers and parks are named after César Chávez in the United States. For example, there is the César Chávez Elementary School in San Francisco. There is also a portrait of César Chávez in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, as well as a statue of him at the University of Texas in Austin. César Chávez is listed in the California Hall of Fame and references have been made about him in songs by well-known musicians, like Stevie Wonder in the song “Black Man”. He was also honored with a commemorative postage stamp that the United States Postal Service issued in 2003.

Therefore, here in Bonavendi we want to celebrate his heritage as a symbol of harmony, coexistence and friendship between the American and the Mexican people.

There will be always stronger bonds between our communities than walls that intend to tear us apart.

Best alternatives to Bookscouter.com https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/best-alternatives-to-bookscouter-com/ Tue, 08 Mar 2016 09:10:15 +0000 https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/?p=72 Bookscouter.com seems like a nice place to sell your used textbooks. However, you might be interested in knowing some alternatives out there in case you find out a better choice. Here, we will try to elaborate a list of options to choose from in order to make your life easier!

The company we are evaluating has a well-known website with a neat interface, that is true, but  a disadvantage we have found is that you have to enter an ISBN every time you want to conduct a search. Entering the book’s name or its code bar is not an option. Although the ISBN is something usually within our reach, it may come inconvenient if we know that we own a certain book but we do not have it with us at the moment.

Another small handicap this company faces is being very much focused on textbooks, making the website practically worthless when a user needs to compare buy-back prices for any other items, such as music CDs, video games, Blu-ray or DVDs.

Last thing we would like to mention is that they claim you do not need registration to access to their comparison tools but the truth is that for some key functionalities like the bulk comparison, you need to be a Bookscouter Pro.

Let’s now introduce you some valuable alternatives to Bookscouter.com:

1. Bonavendi:

Bonavendi1

Obviously, our top recommendation has to go to Bonavendi.com. Completely free and without registration required, you are granted full access to their price comparison engine that allows you to compare price items one by one, or if you prefer, by using their distinctive bulk comparison tool, do it with a list of items at once.

While Bookscouter is mainly for textbooks, you may find at Bonavendi the best market price for general books, as well as for CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays or video games.

ISBN is not the only way you can input your articles, but also code bar, name or title are valid methods.

Best 2015 Video Games you can now get for very less money https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/best-2015-video-games-can-now-get-less-money/ Thu, 18 Feb 2016 18:53:08 +0000 http://137.116.198.215:10181/blog/?p=53 Now that 2015 is up, let’s recap our very own Bonavendi’s Top 10 Video games that last year had to offer. It has been one of the best years in quite a long time and from the rain-slick streets of Gotham City, to the arid desert of Afghanistan, 2015 has transported us across the globe and to worlds beyond.

1. Batman: Arkham Knight (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

batman-710392_1280

The power fantasy at the heart of Batman: Arkham Knight remains one of the most seductive in all of gaming: spend enough time brawling, blasting, and winching, and you can liberate an entire metropolis with a single tool belt and tank. (Seriously, you’re going to be doing a lot of winching.) You can spend hours soaring above Gotham’s skyline, tuning into radio dispatches from friends and foes alike. No one can touch you. If you hear a bunch of thugs wailing on a captive or daring to insult the Caped Crusader, you can swoop in and show them the cost of tempting fate. The city is your oyster.

The combo-heavy combat system that birthed a dozen action-adventure knock-offs remains fluid and physical, and the deep bench full of various Batman villains helps to liven up what would otherwise be boilerplate beat ‘em up side quests. Like its predecessors in Rocksteady’s Arkham series, Arkham Knight understands that Batman’s toughest battles are mental; there’s no villain more dangerous than the darkness looming in Bruce Wayne’s mind. Arkham Knight’s treatment of that truth is heavy-handed, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying. (www.theverge.com). Buy it here. Sell it here

2. Fallout 4 (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Obviously, Fallout 4 had one of the biggest launches in gaming history. The game sold millions of copies in just days, and if we had to guess, more people bought Fallout 4 than Adele’s new album. Although the game has some bugs, it’s still one of the best games of the year, with a vast wasteland for you to explore, weapons and a base to craft, and some of the best questing and storylines we’ve seen in an open world game to date. Developer Bethesda should be proud of their latest game, and we’re hoping they’re now working on the next Elder Scrolls. (www.heavy.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt took the gaming world by surprise earlier this year. Sure, we were expecting a good game, but we weren’t expecting a great game. And, The Witcher 3 exceeded our expectations in just about every way imaginable. The world is incredibly large, dense, and beautiful, and there’s plenty to see. The quests are exciting, and there are plenty of cool ideas within so it doesn’t feel repetitive. Like Fallout 4, The Witcher 3 contains bugs, but that’s to be expected in such a large open world game, and the game has already been patched numerous times, so many of those original bugs no longer exist. Taking the time to explore the game is highly recommended, as you’ll come across glorious beasts, cool characters, and impressively designed parts of the world. The amount of gameplay alone makes it one of the best gifts for gamers this year. (www.heavy.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

4. Life Is Strange (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Released in five episodes throughout the year, Life Is Strange is a game that isn’t really about action but decisions. You play as the teenage Maxine Caulfield, an aspiring photographer at boarding school who one day discovers that she has the power to rewind time. This slowly spirals outward into a chain of cause and effect based on the choices you make as a player — choices that really are important, since action isn’t really a part of the game as much as exploring its world and getting to know its characters.

You could fill a bucket of considerable size with the storytelling tropes Life Is Strange happily checks off, and you will, at times, wince at its writing; adding up its flaws and strengths will almost certainly, on paper, leave it wanting. Playing through it, however, is mesmerizing. It is gentle and moving and, at its best, agonizing in the choices it asks you to make. If you let it, the game will make you smile at one moment and devastate you in the next. But more important, it’s a game that will compel even non-gamers to stop and wonder if perhaps this might be for them. (www.vulture.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

5. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Don’t let the frequency of the Call of Duty franchise fool you — Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a gem. It’s much better than Advanced Warfare, thanks to better multiplayer maps, cool guns, and a quicker pace. It’s highly polished as well, and there are very few hiccups during gameplay. No, it’s not a back to basics, no-frills Modern Warfare like we were hoping, but it’s still the best Call of Duty of the past three years. The zombie mode is the best it has ever been as well. (www.heavy.com/). Buy it here. Sell it here.

6. Bloodborne (PS4)

Bloodborne isn’t like most modern games. It doesn’t ease you into the experience, slowly teaching you the rules and giving you time to understand its complex systems. It doesn’t put you in the role of a super-powered hero capable of taking down dangerous beasts with ease. Instead, it casts you as a regular person and throws you into a gothic world of violence and despair. And then it kills you, over and over.

Bloodborne’s unforgiving nature is a large part of its appeal. The spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series, it’s a game where every victory feels hard won. The bosses are huge, grotesque monstrosities that will take every ounce of your skill to defeat, but even the standard enemies — the plague-inflicted inhabitants of Yharnam — can kill you. Bloodborne forces you to learn how it works, and then tests your knowledge in the most brutal ways possible. It’s a game where you will die a lot — but that only makes your eventual victory all the more satisfying. (www.theverge.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

7. Super Mario Maker (Wii U)

super-1138462_1920

For a bit of lighter fare, the Wii U had a couple of great games hit the shelves this year. But the best new Wii U game of 2015 is Super Mario Maker, a game that allows you to create your own Mario levels and share them with friends. You’re also able to download new levels from the community and try them out, and the creativity is always commendable. With the Wii U on its last leg, Super Mario Maker couldn’t have come at a better time. (www.heavy.com). Buy it here. Sell it here

8. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain represents the culmination of everything series creator Hideo Kojima has worked on in his almost 30-year-long career, but it’s so much more than just a bigger or better stealth game than its predecessors. It’s the evolution of the free-form chaos promised by games like Far Cry 2, where its open world isn’t simply a means to provide an empty checklist of things to do, but rather an invitation to use its surroundings to solve a never-ending set of constantly evolving situational challenges. Do you take the high road or the gulch below as you slink into the enemy’s desert fortress? Do you use the approaching sandstorm to retreat or as an opportunity to continue your assault? Do you head straight for your objective, or do you break left because you spotted a soldier with an S-Rank in R&D and you just have to have him on your team, damn the consequences? These moments feel like they’ve been placed by a guiding, directorial hand yet feel completely emergent and organic, a paradox that can only happen in a series like Metal Gear.

There are also the weird, distinctly Metal Gear moments that make it so much more than a collection of clever, intertwining systems. There’s the part where you can infiltrate a heavily-fortified base while blasting Hall & Oates from your Sony Walkman. Or the part where you can tranquilize sheep, goats, or zebras, attach balloons to them, and send them back to your burgeoning zoo back on Mother Base. Or the series of cassette tapes that let you listen to a man essentially invent the McDonald’s hamburger. Then there’s the story; an infuriating, brilliant, and completely Metal Gear send-off that simultaneously embraces three decades of built-up lore and lovingly gives it the middle finger. While other games come and go, The Phantom Pain’s Lynchian narrative will stick with you like a waking dream long after its final credit sequence plays out – a fitting end to the most enigmatic series in video game history. (www.gamesradar.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

9. Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)

science-fiction-965256_1920

Halo 5: Guardians is the best Halo to date, at least when it comes to the multiplayer. There are numerous game modes, huge maps, and gameplay is as tight as it has ever been. The visuals are stunning, and it pushes the Xbox One to its limits. Most commendable about the game is its new guns, all of which are impressive. And, the Needler is the best it has ever been, as well. Master Chief vs. Master Locke doesn’t play out how we expected, but the story is great, and we’re looking forward to a Halo6(www.heavy.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

10. Mortal Kombat X (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Fighting games are a quiet genre where every once in a while, a long-running and much-loved franchise makes an appearance. This year, it was Mortal Kombat. Four years after successfully bringing the long-wayward series back to basics, Mortal Kombat X returned for more ludicrous and violent action. Few fighting games are so full of stuff — X has endless reasons to keep you fighting, the least of which is its insane, over-the-top story mode. (www.vulture.com). Buy it here. Sell it here.

As you can see right on top of the infographic the market for used things is huge: even taking into account that we only looked at CDs, DVDs, books and video games the market has a size of at least 4 billion dollars! This number is based on conservative assumptions since we set estimated the resale price for items older than 2 years at only 10% of the original value. Being aware of the potential of recommerce, you should, whenever you want to buy something new, consider something used instead. Most things people sell again are in absolutely mint condition, especially DVDs and games usually look like new when they are sold again. This happens because most people tend to not watch the same movie regularly or play games again after having finished it once.
Even though there are digital trends like streaming of movies and music and digital copies of games still lots of people like the haptic feel of physical things. Therefore, the market for physical copies still accounts for about one third of the whole market for media. One key advantage of physical copies compared to digital ones is, that selling them is not only very easy but also plainly feasible. Another thing that many people underestimate is costs of not only hobbies but also for example studies. If you are a student and want to go through college a lot cheaper definitely consider buying books that are used. This has not only the perk of getting things cheap, most textbooks that are a not completely new only cost a few bucks, but also many students write notes into their books. Those notes can be very helpful hints and tricks that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on.
Overall recommerce is still a relatively young market niche compared to very established retailers like amazon but there is no reason to not benefit from it. The one most important thing when buying or selling used is comparing prices, since those differ for used things even more than for new stuff.

Starting the new semester with power, motivation – and maybe with a bag of money https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/starting-new-semester-power-motivation-maybe-bag-money/ https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/starting-new-semester-power-motivation-maybe-bag-money/#comments Wed, 14 Jan 2015 17:49:45 +0000 http://137.116.198.215:10181/blog/?p=45 Christmas holidays – a relaxing and reflective time – are over and we all have to continue our daily life. But are you ready yet? I guess, a lot of us are still looking for their motivation. But how can you find it? What type are you? Do you need some lovely moments to be motivated or does it come back with time? I can tell you my tricks about getting back on my daily life with power and motivation.

Of course at the beginning of my holidays I do nothing at all I just relax on my couch or hang out with my friends. We live in a very fast world where the time is running and therefore a little break doesn’t harm the biggest workaholic. But keep in mind if you do nothing for too long the start after the holidays is very hard and annoying. I speak from my own experience. Thus I was searching for little jobs at home, like repairing odds and ends or cleaning the apartment. Well, that isn’t much fun and no comparable activity like hanging out on the couch and watch TV or playing video games. However while house cleaning I had the idea what to do with my free time. I recognized a lot of old stuff that I haven’t used for years and thought of selling them. But I didn’t want to go to a garage sale so I searched on the Internet and of course I found some buyback sites. So I started to sort all my used stuff I didn’t need any longer and sold it online. And then I had a flash of insight. I finally had a solution what to do with my old textbooks I’ve needed in the last semesters but the next time no more. They once were very expensive and as a student you are not very liquid. It feels like you have a bag of money after selling those expensive textbooks. Although it clears my conscience because of the “green factor”. Selling or buying used is a relief for the environment what really is important these days. So I kill two birds with one stone and have a bag of money at the beginning of the semester. What more do you want? I was really happy and with happiness there is motivation to achieve something. Whenever I have so much time that I don’t know what to do with myself I sort out my old stuff and sell it. Call me crazy but this can make you feel better.
So this is my tip for you how have a nice start and furthermore earn some money what you can really need at the beginning of a semester. I hope this was inspiring and you see the potential of selling used stuff you don’t need any more and only takes space. To this end, start getting rid of your old things!

Textbooks – Buy low, sell high https://www.bonavendi.com/blog/textbooks-buy-low-sell-high/ Wed, 07 Jan 2015 17:47:40 +0000 http://137.116.198.215:10181/blog/?p=42 It is probably not hard to understand that most of the students realize they need to buy textbooks just before the start of the semester . It is a fact. Most of the students just do not care about studying while enjoying holidays. But they also do not think ahead. Nobody thinks about the next semester while preparing for the current exams. The result of it is simply that the demand for textbooks goes up like a rocket for a few weeks in a year.

Rising demand – rising prices. That is good for anyone who sells, but unfortunately very costly for anyone who wants to buy. Research undertaken by Datawin Consulting shows that prices of textbooks rise up in the beginning of a semester and are extremely low during summer. Mainly in June and July every year. This is the time when the biggest concern of a student is how many sunny days he can enjoy this year. You need to compensate for all the times you’ve been studying and working hard. Normal students don’t care about buying used textbooks. But they should!

Prices for the same textbook can vary from 22.99$ in summer to 299.57$ in the beginning of a semester due to Datawin Consulting. That’s a whole lot of money! Just think about it for a second. Therefore you should find out which textbooks you need for next semster in advance and buy them in summer. After finishing classes you shouldn’t sell your textbooks right afterwards but wait until the semester starts again and sell at a much higher price!

Isn’t that great? You buy cheap textbooks, use them and sell at a higher price. On avarage students get 2 dollars back for every dollar they put in. If that happened more than a few times a year trading textbooks would be a great business. Anyway this strategy will help you to make profits while other students lose money on textbooks.
